CHARACTER
Name: Jason Todd
Canon: DC Comics
Age: Early twenties (no exact age known; comics, man.)
Timeline: Batman and Robin #25
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: n/a
Personality:
At his core, Jason is a protector. Sometimes it's hard to remember that beyond all the rage, all he honestly wants is to protect people who can't protect themselves. He wants to see Gotham become a better place, a place where kids don't have to steal tires to survive or worry about where their next meal is coming from or avoid the drug dealers hanging around their school yards. He wants Gotham to be a safe. He really does. But since his death and resurrection, Jason's methods have changed-- and there lies the problem. He's always had problems with anger, even before Bruce took him in. It was even part of the main reason why Bruce took him in; to help
Jason channel that anger towards something productive. But then he died. And then he came back, brain damaged and hurting. And then, in an act of desperation, Jason Todd was shoved into a Lazarus Pit.
No one who ever enters the Pit comes out of it the same way. The Pit made Ra's al Ghul crazy. It made Jason Todd worse.
He's angry at Bruce for being unavenged. He's angry because he sees Tim Drake as a replacement, making him just another cog in Bruce's fucked up machine. He's angry that even though they work and work, nothing ever changes. And then, through all that rage, Jason Todd has a revelation; nothing ever changes because nothing is ever done the way it should be. He's frustrated, enraged, and lacking a proper outlet for it, he channels it all towards his role as the vigilante Bruce Wayne refuses to be. Before, it was a manageable kind of anger, channeled easily. Now, it's gone homicidal.
Jason is also very studious, getting exceptional grades when he was in school and since then proving himself a faithful student in practical lessons. He dedicates himself to his lessons and his causes, giving them all of his time and effort. After returning, Jason basically gave up any semblance of a regular life. He never returned to school, he never got a job or a cover of any kind-- he let himself stay 'dead' in order to dedicate his new life to this cause.
Part of what makes him so smart is that Jason is very quick on his feet. When faced with the Russian mob, at least 10 guns trained on him with a burning building behind him, instead of trying to fight his way out, Jason thought his way through it-- and then fought. He's a good actor, it’s easy for him to key into the right kind of emotions to show, the right sort of strategies to take.
One of the side effects of the Pit is that while further skewing his negative emotions, it also did a number on many of his positive ones. Jason had always had a sense of humor, quick wit that really helped cement his role as Robin, but the Pit or his own cynicism has really pushed Jason's sense of humor to a drier place. He's become something of a smart ass, always with coy comments and sarcastic remarks. While he seems to enjoy in his own way, it can be frustrating for others. It's both a blessing and a curse.
When he was younger, he used these kinds of things in a positive way. Jason's always been empathetic, always knowing how other people around him are feeling. But now, Jason's intentions are less noble than they used to be. Now, Jason can see how someone is feeling and use that as a weapon against them. Those kinds of manipulations are just another thing that the Pit probably didn't help.
Jason's life could have been a lot different. If he hadn't died, hadn't been thrown in the Pit, Jason could have lived a happier life. But he did and so he didn't.
Right now, at this canon point, Jason is in an intense downward spiral. His life is basically falling apart but Jason is angry enough and hopeless enough that he's just decided to quit trying and watch the world burn. He lacks the hope that things will get better. He only likes, respects, and cares for one person in this entire world: his sidekick, Sasha (codename: Scarlet). They're two fucked up people in a fucked up world, but they're a little bit better when they're together.

Well, well, well...
[ When Jason went from suddenly negotiating a hostage situation in his birthday suit to being on an old train on its way to a mystery location (still in his birthday suit), Jason was actually less than surprised. He'd been here before. He's ridden this train and he knows the surprise he's going to get at the end of the ride.
He smirks, privately angry at being interrupted, but mostly amused in his own special way.
This place has always had a way of picking people up when it was least convenient. At least Jason wasn't bleeding from the neck this time. ]
Aren't they in for a surprise.

Prose Log Sample:
There was something very satisfying about the crunch of a nose under a pair of well-worn boots. You could feel it through the sole, that crumbling of cartilage almost resembling the sensation of stepping on an aluminum can. The blood would splatter and the thug would scream as their bones were turned into mush or shoved into their brain pan. Satisfying. Very satisfying.
Wherever Jason Todd goes, a fight tends to follow. He wasn’t sure if it was just his notorious bad luck, a series of coincidence or both, but it seemed like everything he did ended up in a blood bath. This time it wasn’t even his fault; he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But he didn’t mind, not really.
This was where Jason felt at home. This moment, this adrenaline rush— this was where Jason thrived.
An arm looped around his neck and Jason turned his attention away from his thoughts and back at the task at hand. Right. Fighting. He threw back his elbow, hitting the man in the kidney. The thug howled in pain. The arm loosened slightly, giving Jason just enough room to slip through and turn around in a quick motion throwing his other elbow into the man’s jugular, cutting off his cry of pain with a sharp folding of his windpipe.
“Two down--”
A second man rushed him, a knife in his hand. Jason rolled out of the way, aiming a kick at the back of his knee as he went, before bounding forward to use the brick wall of the alleyway as a spring board. Flips and shit; a skill gained from many years of trying to be someone else. Jason landed in front of the man, smirking. It’s just about the only useful skill Dick Grayson ever gave him.
“One to go.”
Everything else, however—that was just Jason. A shot echoed through the tight space and the man with the knife toppled, Jason standing in front of him with a gun. Dick would have taken out one of his dumb sticks in that split second the acrobatics gave him. Jason had decided a more direct approach would be faster.
He turned to the man struggling to breathe, already turning slightly blue. He stared up at Jason in horror, shaking his head even before Jason spoke.
“Sorry big guy, you have to go too. Can’t let anybody know about me yet, hm?” He leveled the gun in his face, pointing right between the eyes. “Say ‘Hi’ to the man upstairs for me.”
